釧路市動物園、ホッキョクグマのクルミ ママへ準備 繁殖に期待

妊娠の可能性があるクルミ（メス・13歳）は、11月3日で展示を中止。
4日から産室に移動し、出産に備えるようです。
秋頃から砂場を深く掘ったり、産室を出たり入ったり等の普段と違う行動をし始めたため、妊娠の兆候かと期待されています。
産室の大きさは幅1メートル・奥行き3メートル・高さ2メートルほどで、光と音が遮断された空間だそうです。
クルミは今年の1月に、円山動物園から借り受けていた、デナリ（オス・16歳）との間に交尾が確認されていました。
デナリは言わずと知れた、あのツヨシの、あのピリカの、あのイコロ・キロルの偉大なるお父さんです。
クルミとの間にもどうか授かっていますように。
そしてどうか無事に元気な子グマが生まれ、健やかに育ちますように。
釧路市動物園では今まで15頭の出産経験があるそうですが、
そのうち元気に育ったのは4頭のみ。
産室には赤外線カメラを設置し、24時間監視し、クルミの出産を見守るそうです。
動物園の方もがんばれ！
一方、嫁入り待ちの豪太はしばし待ちぼうけ。
早ければ10月には嫁が来るとも言われていましたが、妊娠の兆候がみられたなんて喜ばしいことですからね。
