2015年10月17日、東山動植物園のミリーが死亡しました。
1992年イギリス生まれの22歳、7月中旬から体調を崩していたそうです。
10月17日午前8時45分頃、飼育員によって死亡が確認されました。
死因は肝臓腫瘍とみられています。
名古屋市の東山動植物園は１７日、飼育していた雌のホッキョクグマ「ミリー」が２２歳で死んだと発表した。人間なら７０歳ぐらいに当たる。死因は肝臓の腫瘍だった。
